Dating back to the 1800s, Casa Pero, formerly a small farmhouse, is now an idyllic country cottage, which has been sensitively restored, and is very much a home from home. Accommodating up to 7 guests it is an ideal property for both families and those seeking to ‘get away from it all’
Located in a quiet country lane, at the end of a small hamlet, on a hillside midway between the historic hill towns of Montefalcone Appennino and Santa Vittoria in Matenano, Casa Pero enjoys a sunny, south facing aspect with tranquil views over a small valley to an olive grove and a wooded hillside beyond. This property is located, close to both the sandy beaches of the Adriatic, and the breathtaking scenery of the Sibillini Mountains National Park.
The house is comfortably furnished and centrally heated. On the ground floor is a well equipped kitchen with electric cooker, washing machine and dishwasher. This leads to a spacious, but cosy sitting room with sofas, armchairs, bookcases, DVD player with library, open hearth and pellet burning stove. There is also a wc/shower on the ground floor. The first floor is reached by an external staircase which gives access to three large bedrooms, two doubles and a twin. There is also a well appointed bathroom with wc.
Outside, the house gives onto a large illuminated paved terrace with garden tables and chairs for those long al fresco lunches, as well as a built in barbecue! There are several steps down to a good size swimming pool (8 x 4.75m) with plenty of sun loungers, terracotta pots, and a pergola for welcome shade. The pool is set within gardens which have been professionally designed and richly planted with lavenders, roses, oleander, agapanthus, tulbaghia and many other colourful perennials. Below the pool terrace and in the shade cast by a walnut tree is another smaller terrace and pergola with a hammock.
